WINTER TRAINING
Winter Field Training Starts in January at our Location at Shorty Howell Park Tournaments end in November but the Southeast Angels continue to train thrice a week for strength training in order to get them ready for Spring. This year we have been working out at Planet Fitness in Cumming, Market Boulevard, 2-3 hour workouts and players were provided with a workout agenda which allows the players to workout another day without the team.
These workouts are high intensity and each player receives between 150 – 200 high velocity machine driven balls, ground balls, pop fly balls and line drives over and over during our winter workout practices.
Most of our coaches compare these practices to the Vanderbilt University practices, because the intensity is so high, most of players are exhausted from these intense workouts. The high volume of plays from every base increases their skills at a rapid rate and is extremely important to be prepared for the spring time as it improves their velocity, strength and abilities.
